About New Hope North

New Hope North is the counseling practice of Barbara Van Hoff. Barbara is a licensed marriage and family therapist, an AAMFT approved supervisor, and a registered play therapist. She has also had Level II training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma therapy.

Barbara earned her BS in Nursing from Columbia University, and her Masters in Family Therapy from Southern Connecticut State University. She has five grown sons, a daughter-in-law,  and has been married 30+ years to Jack. After living in CT for 27 years, the van Hoffs moved to New Hampshire in the beginning of 2008.

At New Hope North in West Lebanon, NH, Barbara sees clients of all ages with a variety of problems. Along with her clinical work and supervision, Barbara loves to teach and generally does several workshops a year. These workshops are geared to mental health professionals and graduate students interested in learning more about play therapy.
